“Imagine that we are individual artists making something called theatre… you know the result? A really, really bad one!” Ricardo Preto is a Portugese Scenographer born in 1981. He’s a founding member of “Fire Circle” a circus arts group and a graduate of ESMAE (Escola Superior de música e artes do espectaculo) Professionally Ricardo has worked as a Scenography Assistant for SONAE, Casa da Música, Círculo Portuense de Ópera (opera company), Panmixia and Beatgenesis and as Scenographer for Pedro Leitão andAlvaro Correia. Design for Performance: Collaborators at the V&A
The UK Design for Performance exhibition “Collaborators” moves to the Victoria and Albert Museum, London for a year’s residency. On display will be designs by three of the most internationally acclaimed set designers of recent years - Paul Brown, Richard Hudson and Ralph Koltai - including Brown’s surreal designs for La Traviata at the 25,000-seat Arena di Verona (2004).
