Building Babel

A team of international volunteers are working hard in Prague building the various Scenofest performance and workshop areas The latest images from the Industrial Palace’s Central Hall depict the erection of the Babel Tower (Designed by Sean Crowley & Ian Evans) and the Scenofest Stage. The Babel Tower will become the focus of collaboration and developing ideas amongst Scenofest participants Taken only two days ago by the Babel Tower’s co-designer Ian Evans we can’t help feeling some of the construction images resemble Meyehold’s “Bathhouse”

Street Performances - PQ07

The 2007 Prague Quadrennial breaks out into the streets and squares of Prague with a a full schedule of Street Performances including a special Scenofest Sound performance at Masarykovo Station called “Laptop Connections“.

Key locations for the performances include the Old Town Square and it’s surrounding streets.

Birds Parade & Carnival

The “Birds Parade & Carnival” is a huge peace parade born out of a scenofest workshop that everyone is invited to. Participants are invited to wear national costumes, theatre costumes and carnival costumes. The Parade will begin at the Industrial Palace and wind its way across the river into the centre of Prague.

Don’t forget your sounds!

Sound designer and Scenofest Head of Sound Steve Brown popped into our Prague Quadrennial Blogs recently with news of the Scenofest Sound Party - a dedicated event for sound designers. “The Alfred ve Dvore Theatre will host a gathering of students and professionals and provide a forum for designers to share examples of their sound designs, soundscapes and compositions, in an open, relaxed and supportive, informal environment.”
